He had blue eyes, brown hair and a dark complexion. He was a member of the Church of England. He was a member of the 2nd Canadian Pioneer Battalion.
In the 1921 Toronto City directory he is listed as a fruit dealer living on the south side of Hay Avenue, Mimico.
