He was 30 years and 7 months of age and stood 5 feet 6 inches tall. He had blue eyes, fair hair and complexion. He was a Presbyterian.
He enlisted the same day as his brother Edward.
In the 1914 Toronto City directory he is listed as a machinist living on the north side of Victoria Street, Mimico.
