According to his attestation papers, dated August 17, 1915, Lloyd Victor Vint was born on April 13, 1895 in Penetanguishene, Ontario. He listed his mother Constance Vint as his next of kin. He listed his occupation as a clerk and indicated that he had had previous military experience with the 48th Highlanders. He was 20 years and 4 months of age and 5 feet 9 1/4 inches tall. He had grey eyes, brown hair and a dark complexion. He was a member of the Church of England.
According to the 1914 Toronto City directory he was a clerk living with his parents on the east side of Victor Avenue.
His brother Roy also enlisted.
