He listed his trade as clerk. He was living on Macdonald Street. He was 19 years, 5 months of age and 5 feet 9 3/4 inches tall. He had blue eyes and fair hair and complexion. He had scars on both knees and a birthmark on his left breast. He was a member of the Church of England.
He was a member of the British Columbia Regiment, 7th Battalion when he was killed in action on July 23, 1917. He is buried in the Maroc British Cemetery, Grenay, France
